Simple Things

Who knew that the most simple things in life could bring such happiness? I got a letter the other day from a good friend on his mission and it made me so happy! Just a simple piece of paper with writing on it made my whole week! I was going to work today and I was driving up 8th east and it made me really happy! It felt really good to be home and going to a job that I enjoy. I had a box of muana loa chocolate covered macadamia nuts yesterday and I thought I had eaten them all but then I looked a little later in the box and realized I still had one left, it was a great discovery! Simple things= happy:)
Yes these really are island sunshine delicious!:)

Survived a fake heart attack...

So this last week was hands down the craziest/worst/ best week I've had!! haha! To have all those emotions in one week was just a little too much to handle but I got through it! Ok so let's start on Monday; I was able to go on one of the funnest hikes! I went with some of my sorority sisters and we hiked the wind caves in Logan canyon. Even though it was raining and windy we thought, "what a better time." Ya we're girls we don't think a lot I guess. It was surprisingly fun to hike in the rain! We were soaked by the time we got to the caves and we decided to basically rock climb our way back down. We finally got to the trail and the leader of the stupids (that would be us) fell down this mud slide, got flipped around and was somehow looking and screaming at us as she slides down this steep trail! It was HILARIOUS!! Of course we had to laugh our butts off before we decided to help her. But instead of going to save her we decided to join her. So we all slid down the muddy trail. So it was finally my turn to slide and as I was going down my shorts rode up and unfortunately my little bum bum got cut. Yes right on the crease. Not the most pleasant feelings but that experience was worth it! We basically had to run the whole way down before it got dark. So by the end of the night I was so sore! I went to bed but woke up around 5 a.m. because my body was hurting so bad and my heart burn was killing me! So I got up and headed to Wonderland or some may call it Wal Mart. I got some tum tum tum tum tums and some pain killers and headed out the door. As I was heading out my chest started to have severe pains! I was freaking out so I went home and of course googled "heart attack symptoms" yep had almost all of them. So I decided to go to the ER... long story short I basically had a break down and pretty sure all the nurses were laughing at me because I was crying so hard. They did and ekg on me where they basically stick a ton of stickers on your chest hook you up to a machine... yup and of course the doctor that had to do it was extremely cute! That's the most action I've had... ever. Well I didn't have a heart attack, my heart burn was so bad my esophagus spasmed out and decided to go crazy! So now I just have to take some medicine every day so I don't have another fake heart attack! haha! So the rest of the week went by like usual but as I was going home to Bountiful I decided to run over some car parts in the road and, SURPRISE! I got a flat tire! Oh no big deal it was just rainin! Thank goodness for grandpas who live close by and who can change a tire!! I got home successfully! Just to have the cherry on top of a fantastic week, one of my good friends' had his farewell on Sunday. It was a rough week. But it was all ok because I got THE best news that made that hard week all better on Sunday. I can't say what or who it was from quite yet but I'll definitely post the news when I'm able to share! So last week was a roller coaster of emotions but it was all worth it!!

Oh p.s. I got a sweet Bob Marley Poster in my room that I'm pretty excited about!!
Here are some of my most favorite quotes from the Bobby
"One good thing about music, when it hits you , you feel no pain. "
"Get up, stand up, Stand up for your rights. Get up, stand up, Don't give up the fight."
"Open your eyes, look within. Are you satisfied with the life you're living?"
"Rastafari not a culture, it's a reality."
I love me some Bob!!

New Room Discoveries

Ok so as I said before with my new apartment this summer in Logan I have my own room and bathroom! This is really exciting for me because this is the first time in my ENTIRE life that I've had my own room and own bathroom. That's right back home I grew up with 5 other people fighting for the toilet! So I decided to blog about some of the new and surprising findings with having my own room.

#1- Being Naked. Yes for the first time I'm able to walk out of my bathroom straight into my bedroom stark naked. The first time I discovered this I decided to strut out of my bathroom naked and walk around my room about 3 times to make sure that I was ok with this new discovery, and you can guarantee that I was ok with this part of having my own room. I said to myself, "self, this being naked thing is going to be just fine." Back when I lived in a dorm I would wake up and shower before my roommate so when I needed to get dressed it felt like some kind of sport. I would give myself a little pep talk before hand to let myself know that everything's going to be ok and then the race would begin. I would have to be quiet as a mouse as I put those panties and the double boulder holder on. You don't realize how quiet the morning really is until you're trying to put your leg into that tiny panty hole. And it's even worse when you're trying to pull those pant legs up, it's so loud you might as well be jumping up and down on your roommates bed. Frustrating.

#2- Doing embarrassing things- When sharing a room you run the risk of embarrassing yourself more than needed. In your room who feel safe and you let loose. You do silly and embarrassing things. So when you want to sing into your hairbrush microphone and leap around your room to the sweet soothing tunes of Justin Bieber you can. But when sharing a room more than likely someone will walk in on you during this great moment and shoot you with their judging eyes until you feel so ashamed with yourself you just want to die. But now with my own room I can have my one on one time with the Biebster and not worry about those judging eyes! Hallelujah!

#3- Cleanliness- "Cleanliness is next to Godliness." Uh... not anymore in Nichole's room!! I can just throw clothes on the floor and leave them there for weeks and not feel bad at all!! Or leave stuff on my bathroom counter! Well I felt bad for myself today when I walked into my room and was slapped in the face with the smell of dirty. So I did clean my room:)

#4- Farting. Yes don't you dare deny that you just let them rip in your room. And if you do deny that fact then you should be karate chopped in the jugular! Because everyone does it! And just admit it... um you like it! Don't be ashamed, if you can't freely fart in your room then where can you? No where. And then you'd be distressed and grumpy all the time and then no one would want to be around you. Simple fact.

So these have been the greatest findings so far with having my own room and bathroom. Great eh? I'm going to soak in all of these new discoveries because I only get them for the summer and then it's back to the stresses of sharing a room!

The first

So here is my very first blog post! My wonderful roommates had such great blogs that it convinced me to get one! I'm new at this so don't be hatin if I do/ say something stupid k. Well it's the summer here in Logan and so far so good! My beautiful roommates are Hayley Jo and Sam! They are great! Sometimes I think we're almost too chill. I've decided that we're going to start planning our summer! So Hayley and Sam let's get crackin!! This is the first time in my entire life that I have my own room and own bathroom! It's nuts and a little lonely but i'm a tough girl I'll survive! Besides the adventures in my apartment, I'm working in the admissions office on campus. I love it! Right now it's pretty slow so I've thought of some pretty cool ways to entertain myself like; chaining paper clips together, or picking up metal from the magnet on the end of the stapler removers, or reading the felony charges from incoming students (don't worry it's all in good fun). Maybe someday I'll actually do what I'm supposed to but for now I'm going to keep peeping in on students personal information. (jk if I did that I'd get fired!) This last weekend I went to Bear Lake for a greek ambassador retreat. It was so fun! I love all the greek ambassadors and I think we'll all work pretty well together! My first day for recruiting at soar is this Friday and I'm a little nervous! But I get free lunch so whatev.

Oh this is just a stapler remover with a sweet magnet at the end... just wanted to illustrate what I use for my entertainment.
